RAD-SURE irradiation indicator
  • TA-GVHD is a side effect of blood transfusion than can be fatal. Patients suffering from certain diseases or certain states like bone marrow transplantations, permanent tumors und T-cells defects are more likely to get infected by TA-GVHD.
  • TA-GVHD can be prevented by radiating the blood tranfusion product.
  • The RAD-SURE blood radiation indicators have been designed to deliver a sure, visible validation of irradiation. Sticked to a blood bag the RAD-SURE indicators show if the blood is radiated or not.
  • Before radiation: the indicator shows: NOT IRRADIATED After radiation: the 'NOT' in the window darkened and the indicator shows: IRRADIATED
